CANADIAN KTTAPE COURSES

Whole Body Kinesiology Therapeutic Taping:    FUNDAMENTALS & INTERMEDIATE COURSE

This seminar will present a history and overview of Kinesiology Therapeutic Taping including a review of the basic philosophy, the therapeutic rationale, and the benefits of light elastic techniques as compared to other treatments and taping methods. Kinesiology Therapeutic Taping involves taping over and around muscles in order to enhance function and recovery, as well as many other clinical techniques that address edema, inflammation, and problems within the kinetic chain. DCs, PTs, ATCs, LMTs, and OTs will receive 15 - 17 CEU credits upon completion of this course.

NBCA - 16 CE Hours | NBMA - 17 Primary CEUs | ANBMT - 15 CEUs

WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES:

  • Understand how KTTAPE differs from other types of tape used in sports and rehab 
  • Learn light elastic techniques for edema, muscle, tendon/ligament, and support techniques 
  • Become proficient with techniques used for common injuries and neurological conditions 
  • Build a technical framework that allows for application customization to fit patient needs 
  • Learn how to effectively implement KTTAPE into your practice

This is the Advanced level in which you assimilate all your previous lessons, experiences and proven techniques. The following will be covered in this course:  

  • Spine-Lumbar 
  • Abdominal-Obliques, Rib Fractures, Diaphragm 
  • Spine/Thoracic-Spinal Process, RSD 
  • Shoulder-Scapular proprioception-position, instability Anterior & multidirectional 
  • Spine/Cervical – Upper trap inhibition, C5 Nerve Pain, unloading 
  • Hip-Trochanteric, Bursitis, Piriformis 
  • Neural-Sciatica, Kinesiology Therapeutic Taping techniques, Combo of taping techniques and Upper Extremity Radiculopathy-Kinesiology Therapeutic Taping  technique combined with McConnell technique. 

Program Objectives  

  • Problem solve patient related questions with the Kinesiology Therapeutic Taping strategies 
  • In a lab setting, learn the application techniques for patients with spinal dysfunction and pain. 
  • In a lab setting, participants will be able to apply taping methods for radicular symptoms and the precautions for treating patients with nerve disorders including CRPS/RSD. 
  • In a lab setting, participants will be able to apply taping methods for trunk and pelvic stability, hip strength, trochanteric bursitis. 
  • In a lab setting, participants will be able to apply taping methods for shoulder instability.  


Audience Prerequisite 

In order to attend this course, you must have completed at least a Fundamentals and Intermediate level courses.
